Financial strength and stability 

Despite the impact of COVID-19, Serenia Life generated a healthy surplus in 2020 and 2021, and achieved a number of important milestones. Through effective planning, our advisors assisted members with new life insurance sales resulting in a 27% increase in policy premium revenues versus the prior year. Our inforce life insurance totalled $3.2 billion, up from 2019’s $3.0 billion.  

Our capital adequacy ratios have remained at a strong level similar to 2019 due to prudent risk management actions. These ratios are much higher than required by our regulators and indicate continued financial strength and the ability to not only grow our business, but thrive. 

New Business Illustration 

As an advisor with Serenia Life Financial, you have the ability to illustrate our individual life insurance products either online, or by downloading the desktop version of the software. See the directions below on how to access both versions of the software. 

Accessing New Business Illustrations

Online Illustrations 

The online illustration system is available to advisors with an active Serenia Life contract.  

When accessing online illustrations for the first time, new users will be directed to register for Microsoft two-factor authentication using either an authenticator app or cell phone number. 

Desktop Illustrations Download 

To download the desktop Illustrations software, follow these steps: 

  1. Click on the “Download” link below and ensure you are logged in to your computer as an Administrator 
  1. Click “Save” and save to your desktop 
  1. Run IllustrationsInstall.exe from your desktop 

Minimum System Requirements: 

Below are the minimum system requirements to help the desktop illustration software run effectively run on your computer. 

  • Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11 
  • Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor  
  • RAM: 4 gigabyte (GB) 
  • Hard disk space: 2GB 
  • Administrator access to complete the installation and software updates 

Note: The desktop illustration software is not compatible with MAC operating systems.

Serenia Life Financial’s online eApp allows you to conduct your business your way.  Whether working remotely or face-to-face, our eApp guides you through the required application details.

To provide a time-efficient and convenient sales process, we have embedded electronic signatures directly into our New Business application and we keep you informed of the status of your applications throughout the underwriting process. We give you the option to choose eDelivery and electronic signatures for approved policy documents.

eSignatures for Forms

Great News!  We now accept eSignatures for all forms!

Do you currently use your own eSignature platform for clients to sign their forms electronically? To make it easier to do business with us, we are pleased to inform you that Serenia Life Financial is now accepting forms that have been electronically signed using your platform of choice as long as we have been added as a recipient in the signing. Completing this final step provides us with the digitally signed form and audit report.

Keep in mind that depending on the software you use, this step may have a different name. When you are ready to send the forms to your client (as you normally would), you simply need to add esign@serenialife.ca as “CC” or “Receives a Copy” or “Reviewer” or “Carbon Copy” (according to the terminology used by your software). Adding this final step will ensure the signed form gets to us. This is the best way to ensure a secure and valid eSignature, and an efficient and streamlined process.

As we require email encryption and original digitally certified documents, we will not accept electronically signed forms unless they have come to us from your eSignature platform – another reason why you must include us in the process by following the instructions above.

You are the expert when it comes to your eSignature software. However, to give you a sense of what this process looks like, we have provided guidance using a popular platform called DocuSign.

Remote Technology Support

Serenia Life Financial Remote Support software (Teamviewer) allows your Help Desk representative to remotely view and control your computer during your support call. This software should only be downloaded and ran at the direction of your Help Desk representative.
